99 Ways To Market Your Tennis Programme Part 6 – A Decent Website

Tennis Coaching Web SiteThere is no question about it. These days, you need a website – a good one. I can’t begin to tell you how much a good website can help you – in terms of marketing your programme and also the admin work it can save you. And it’s much easier than you might think to create one.

At the moment, you probably fall into one of three categories:

  • You have a great website which is up to date, has strong calls to action, online booking and payments, a form on the home page offering a free lesson or something similar, lots of pictures, videos, a blog, pages for the different aspects of your programme, NOT pdf or word documents which download when someone clicks to find out about something. In which case, you may not need the rest of this article.
  • You don’t have a website at all – in which case you need to get one. Read on.
  • You have a website, but not a very good one . What does this mean? Well, the majority of tennis coach / club websites are not ideal. They are often out of date, not many pictures, not nice to look at, difficult for people to find what they are looking for, complicated – instead of a nice pages showing the different aspects of your programme, we have a PDF or Word document opening up when people click. There is nothing on the homepage to grab the visitor, like a signup form for a free taster session, meaning most people will simply leave the website. There is rarely the chance for people to sign up and pay there and then on the website – again, there is often a form for people to download / print out / send off with a cheque. Hard work!

So if you fall into either of the last two categories, what is the solution? Answer – WORDPRESS. The days of needing to understand complicated coding to build a website are gone. Anyone can get a WordPress website up & running and looking pretty good with almost zero technical knowledge. This site is bilt on WordPress, so is my coaching busines website www.surreytennis.com

WordPress was originally designed for blogging, but now it is perfect for building full websites. You can create unlimited pages and posts with a few clicks of the mouse, add pictures, videos, galleries, calendar – almost anything you can think of, you can do easily on WordPress.

So how do you get started? Well I wrote a blog post about how to create a WordPress website. In this blog post, I’ve put some videos showing you how to get started. I made these a couple of years ago when I was just getting started using Worpress myself, so the website in the video doesn’t look as good as something I’d do now, but it shows you how to get started. You could have your website up within the hour. Any problems or questions, contact me and I’ll be happy to help.

I wrote another blog post about how to take online bookings and payments which is actually very easy and can transform your business.

Finally, if you would prefer to have it done for you, but don’t want to fork out thousands for web design, I can do it for you. Click Here for details.
